Moved

On this blog I showed my first steps in art journaling when I was taking the online course of Natalie Malik (now Mutrux :-)), which was called In The Sun .

Now I don’t post here anymore, but if you'ld like to follow my creative wanderings (fe Summer of Color, Weekend inspiration,…) you’re always welcome on my other blog !

Journal In Your Pocket (2)

At first I was thinking to buy a little notebook for the Journal In Your Pocket-course and customize it.
But as I like to try new things, I decided to make one myself. So for the first time I made a little notebook during the past few days:

And I have to say that I really like to begin from scratch and to see the project grow!
This little book isn’t finished yet, so I will add some pages during the course. But it’s a good start ;-)

As I have a very busy week ahead (with an important exam), the first pictures of my journal pages will only appear next weekend.
In the meantime I'm really looking forward to read the prompts and to see the pages of the others participants!

Journal In Your Pocket

Art journaling was a real revelation to me!
Natalie Malik’s e-course “In the sun” taught me my first steps in this whole new world.

Now we’re almost 10 months further and, although I didn’t post any pictures anymore, art journaling has become a part of my daily life.
One of my goals this year is to art journal at least 10 minutes EVERY day.
I really love the relaxing effect it has on me J

Last week Natalie organized a giveaway for the new course “Journal In Your Pocket” which she gives with Emily Dismukes.
And guess what: I won this great giveaway! The course starts next week.
Really looking forward to it!

SOC: Orange

This week’s theme of the Summer Of Color is ‘Orange’.
As I’m working on a special project I didn’t have much time for my daily art journaling.
That’s why for this theme I chose two pages I made recently:

Doubt that the stars are fire,
Doubt that the sun doth move,
Doubt truth to be a liar,
But never doubt I love.
William Shakespeare

In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.

41 - Fire

Hearing the words ‘fire’ and ‘summer’ makes me think of the sun, which is a giant burning star.

The solar flares that you see on these pictures can also induce northern (and southern) lights on earth.
A phenomenon I’m really fond of (remember my post Summer memories).

The quote I added is from William Shakespeare:
Doubt that the stars are fire,
Doubt that the sun doth move,
Doubt truth to be a liar,
But never doubt I love.

Weekend inspiration (3)

Watch the video till the end.
It’s worth it, I promise!

SOC: Purple

I just discovered the summer of color.
Maybe it’s a bit late to join now, but then again: why not? ;-)
This week’s color is purple:

I used a picture of an amethyst and wrote the following around it:

The ruby and amethyst eyes of anemones
Glow through me, fiercer than stars
Charles Brasch

40 - Summer dream job

I really liked all the jobs I did so far (health care and IT).
Maybe they are very different from each other but as I have a lot of interests you could say that each one of them reflects an aspect of my personality and that every job I apply for is in fact a dream job!
That’s also the reason I didn’t make a page.

39 - Summer resolutions

Normally this prompt consisted of making a “Resolutions re-vamp”.
As I didn’t make any resolutions in January, I changed this prompt into “Summer resolutions 2011” J
